Dear Sir

This is in connection with official school holidays due to fog. I believe this is done to prevent any road mishaps due to poor visibility.

On a broader context it has become a practice to announce holidays in May due to hot weather, in January due to cold, in August due to heavy rain and in October due to smog. while other offices and services remain functional.

It is also published in the media that the schools which do not comply will face action.

Sometimes it occurs to me that we are teaching children that we should not go to work if weather is hostile. I think this is a poor customization of mind.

The wheel of weather will remain changing season after season. Isn't it better we train our kids to face seasonal changes and keep going?

If the police, postmen, and trains can operate in vegetable vendors, roadways drivers spite of heat why can't schools?

Moreover shutting down schools every season is a recent phenomenon otherwise such orders have been exceptional rather than rule.

Also it becomes very difficult to complete the syllabus because of frequent closures of school. The students suffer  the loss.

I hope my views will be given a thought and we would let our kids be tough rather than yielding to little rain or cold.

Regards
