Letter of general advice to staff

Letter of general advice to staff

15 July 20XX

Dear Teachers

1. Yesterday while I was taking round of the building after school and found that the staffroom was a complete mess. Scattered notebooks, stuffed cupboards, litter and deranged chairs were some of the things which drew my attention. I think it is everybody's duty to keep the staffroom in order and arrange things before leaving the staffroom.

Similarly, I saw classrooms full of toffee wrappers and pencil scrap spread around dustbins. In some classes display boards seemed unattended displaying posters of gone by events. We have year marked the last day of the month for updating of the boards. Please pay attention to it.

2. Kindly do not turn the staffroom into a gossip room. Some teachers want to do correction work in a peaceful atmosphere and we need to let them.

3. Some teachers take time to reach classrooms after the bell. Others procced to washrooms after sitting for the whole period in the staffroom. These are minor issues which you can take care of. Kindly reach classes in time.

4. I have come to know some teachers encourage celebrating their birthdays in classrooms. The initiative is taken by the students. Students bring cards, gifts and sometimes even cakes for the occasion. Please strictly advise students against such practices.

5. Some teachers use clapping by the class to wish happy birthday to students. On other occasion it is also done for appreciation of good work. But clapping within the classroom is a source of distraction for neighbouring classes. It needs to be discontinued.
