Dear Sir,

I respectfully write to bring to your esteemed attention a matter concerning the frequent forwarding of Right to Information (RTI) applications to our school by your office. These applications, as you may be aware, pertain to private unaided schools, with specific references to Meri Vidya Public School and others.

While we fully respect and honour the law of the land, particularly the Right to Information Act, 2005, I must humbly draw your attention to the fact that, according to the provisions of the RTI Act, it is incumbent upon public authorities to respond to queries directed at them. The Act does not mandate the transfer of such queries to private entities, including our school, which is not a public authority under the RTI framework.

May I request that RTI applications received by your office concerning our school be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Should your office require any specific information from us that we are legally obligated to provide, a formal written request outlining the precise information sought would be most appreciated. We would be pleased to comply with such a request, provided it allows us a reasonable period, typically fifteen days, to gather and furnish the requisite information.

Furthermore, I would like to emphasise that the RTI Act mandates the provision of existing information. It does not, however, oblige the creation, compilation, or analysis of data, which falls outside the scope of the Act.

I trust that this clarification will facilitate a more streamlined and legally compliant process in handling such requests going forward.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your kind cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Robert Prem

Principal
