Dear Mr Sehgal

Please accept my congratulations on assuming the new responsibility of Principal. You had the spark of leadership in you and God has been very kind to give you this opportunity.

I hope you will be reason for grooming hundreds of well rounded students in the years to come and will also raise highly competent teachers to serve the society.

Here is a bit of free advice which I have weaned out from my not-so-eventful but simple life while heading various schools.

1. Always believe that there are more intelligent, better learned and far more respectable people already at work. Try to learn from everywhere through humility and grounded self.

2. Never cease to learn. Buy at least one book every month and read. Knowledge, like water flows from higher standing to lower plain.

3. While dealing with staff be ruthless in work but beware of personal coterie of favourite teachers who will inflate your ego in order to achieve their objectives. People like an impartial head.

4. Stay away from the temptation of receiving gifts. Gifts thrill the heart but weaken the soul.

5. Finally, never sign a document in hurry. Always read completely whosoever has made it.

I think this much is sufficient for this moment. Always feel free to communicate should you come across some challenges which are inevitable.

My best wishes for your personal and professional growth.

Regards

Viban Rana

Principal
